Epic hails Friends!
So, I have been thinking recently about what I want to blog about first and what are some of my passions; in the midst of thought, I had a mad urge for something to drink and so I grabbed for a....BEER!
What better thing to blog about?! A topic I enjoy very much and is a very important part of my lifestyle and music, may I add.

I thought I would go over some styles I enjoy and tell you my favorite beer in this style.

First, i'll start with a nice brown ale. Here i'm drinking Newcastle's brown ale from England. This beer has a very smooth and nutty flavor; It's perfect for when you want a beer thats full of flavor and not too heavy. This isn't my fave nut brown ale, however, my favorite only comes out in the winter,
Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown ale.

For a more wheat/hefeweizen/white ale, recently i've really been into Hoegarden's whitbier/white ale from Belguim. This is an exceptionally good wheat style with subtle hints of orange and its very good served with a slice of orange. It's also funny to hear people mispronounce this beer...it's who-garden. lol.
For those of you who prefer a more light beer, Sam Adam's is my pick! This is no ordinary light beer either, this one has bold flavor and way less carbonation than the leading light beers. It's technically a light beer, however it doesn't taste like one....hmmm.
My favorite style of beer of all time has to be a nice medium color amber ale. This amber is my current favorite, Alaskan Amber Ale from...well Alaska. Its very rich in malts with a subtle taste of hops. Its just really really good. If you like a smooth, medium colored red beer, you'll like this. This is my beer of choice!
Now on the more hoppy side, this is my current favorite IPA (India Pale Ale);
I'm very picky with IPA's or pale ales cause of the use and balance of hops; for me personally, sometimes its too much and not done right. This is very good however, Pyramid's Thunderhead IPA from Washington state.
Now on the more sweet side, this can appeal to people that don't normally drink beer, hell even my Mom likes it! My favorite fruity ale, Pyramids Unfiltered Apricot Wheat Ale. Its not too sweet but it does have a great apricot flavor, perfect to drink in the summer especially. It's very refreshing!
On the other hand, I love hard ciders as well; this is the best hard apple cider i've tried thus far! Spire Mountain Dark & Dry Apple Cider from Washington state. This cider is brewed with molasses and brown sugar, so you get a beatufiul almost bold flavor, even for a cider. Unfortuantely, i've only been able to find it at specialty beer/liquour stores like Total Wine & More.
On my last note, These are two beers I had to mention; the first one is Ska's Buster Nut Brown Ale from Colorado which I had the pleasure to try for the first time at a bar last winter and the second is Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin from Maine. The Buster Nut has an awesome nutty flavor with sweet spices, and the smashed pumpkin is a great specialty pumpkin fall ale; I say specialty cause this is from the creators "signature" collection; this is similar to their Pumpkinhead, however this one is 9% alcohol and way better.

So here are some beers, ladies and gentlemen! Go out and try some of them, if you haven't tried them already.
Now the question is...WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITES?
Happy beer drinking!
Cheers!

Love,
Charlotte the Beer Lover
